Then February 21st rolled around, and #3 UNC showed up at Comcast Center, in what most thought would be a blowout. 40 minutes of regular game time, and 5 minutes of overtime later, the Comcast Crazies were at half court celebrating a surprising 88-85 victory with their battle worn team, after a game that no Maryland fan will ever forget.
Hard to believe? Believe it. That just happened, Tyler Hansborough. Show us some tears.
General Greivis rallied the troops, and the atmosphere in Comcast Center was unlike anything I have personally ever felt at a sports game. After claiming the 3rd triple-double all time in Maryland history, Greivis and the rest of the Terps are looking to repeat their effort from Saturday, tonight against the #7 Duke Blue Devils.
The Scheyerface's will be out in full form, and the student section will be crazy, hoping that Maryland can repeat it's effort from the weekend, burst all the bubbles that they were floating around in before, and make a complete statement at why they deserve to be in the Big Dance come March.
After a season that has been as up and down as the football team's season, it is almost amazing to think that UMD has a chance to make this year's tournament. Hopefully come 11PM tonight, Maryland Basketball can be the top story on ESPN for the 2nd time this week, and everyone can take Scott Van Pelt's advice and hit up Bentley's. Go Terps.
